Earth | Map Ark Scorched

ARK: Scorched Earth is a harsh desert map where managing heat and water is just as dangerous as the predators. Unlike The Island, the environment itself is a constant threat. Core Biomes The map is divided into six unique desert-themed biomes:

The Dunes: Massive sandy plains surrounding the map. Home to Deathworms and Deep Sea Loot Crates.

The Canyons: Features narrow crevices and pools of water. A great source for Silica Pearls.

The High Desert: Located between canyons and mountains, featuring a high density of trees for wood.

The Mountains: Steep cliffs rich in Metal, Obsidian, and Crystal. Guarded by Rock Elementals.

The Badlands: Jagged rocks and flat stone chunks that serve as connectors between major zones.

The Oasis: Found near Obelisks and in the dunes, these provide critical water but are often infested with Kaprosuchus. Essential Survival Tips map ark scorched earth

Prioritize Fortitude: When leveling up, invest in Fortitude immediately to increase your resistance to extreme temperatures.

Stay Hydrated: If you can't find water, harvest Cactus Sap from cactus trees or search for a Morellatops, which can store water in its hump. Manage Your Gear: Early Game: Use Cloth Armor for basic heat protection.

Mid-to-Late Game: Craft Desert Cloth Armor (requires Silk from Lymantria) or Ghillie Armor (requires Organic Polymer from Mantises) for the best heat resistance.

Shelter Matters: Always use Adobe structures; wood and stone trap heat and will eventually kill you. In a pinch, carry a Tent to survive sandstorms and heatwaves. Weather Events Be prepared for three map-specific events:

Heatwaves: Intense heat that drains health rapidly. Stay indoors or underwater.

Sandstorms: Drastically reduces visibility and drains stamina. Use a tent or stay inside. ARK: Scorched Earth is a harsh desert map

Electrical Storms: Disables all electrical equipment (Auto Turrets, Generators) and prevents Cryopods from working. Key Resources & Locations

Water & Oil Veins: Look for these to place Water Wells and Oil Pumps. Artifact Caves:

Artifact of the Gatekeeper: Found in the Canyons (Central Canyons). Artifact of the Crag: Located in the Southern Mountains.

Artifact of the Destroyer: Located in the Ruins of Nosti (Southwest Dunes).

The World Scar: A massive crack in the ground where Wyvern eggs are found.

Pro Tip: Tame a Jerboa as soon as possible. Their unique cries act as a "weather radar," warning you minutes before a weather event starts. ARK: The Ascension Guides (Scorched Earth) Major Regions & Biomes The map can be

Major Regions & Biomes

The map can be broadly divided into five distinct ecological zones. Each presents unique resources, threats, and base-building opportunities.

2. The Mountain Canyons (The High Deserts)

Surrounding the central mountain ranges, these areas feature steep, terraced rock formations and narrow ravines. They offer slightly cooler temperatures than the open dunes.

The Core Philosophy of the Map

Unlike the island’s verticality (mountains vs. ocean) or Aberration’s cave systems, Scorched Earth is defined by weather and water. The map is relatively compact compared to later DLCs like Extinction or Genesis, but what it lacks in sheer size, it compensates for in density and hostility. The geography is designed to funnel players toward specific resources while exposing them to environmental hazards like hyperthermia, sandstorms, and electrical storms.

Essential Creatures for Navigating the Map

Because this is a specific "map" guide, you need to know which dinosaurs to tame first.

  1. Morellatops (The Camel Dinosaur): This is your starter mount. It attacks with a club-like tail, harvests berries, and most importantly, stores 500 water in its hump. Tame this immediately. It is the difference between life and death.
  2. Jerboa (The Weather Rat): This tiny creature is useless in combat but is the most important pet on the map. The Jerboa will do a unique dance animation 60 seconds before a Sandstorm, Electrical Storm, or Heatwave. It is a living weather radar.
  3. Thorny Dragon: The "spiky lizard." It is a fast ground mount that harvests wood (rare on this map) and metal. It also reduces the weight of metal in its inventory.
  4. Wyvern: The end-game goal. You cannot craft a Wyvern saddle; you must steal an egg from the Trench and raise the baby. A Lightning Wyvern is the best PvE mount for clearing Deathworms.
  5. Phoenix (Rare): Only spawns during a Heatwave. It is made of fire. You cannot knock it out; you must shoot it with a Fire Wyvern's breath until it turns into an ash pile, then feed it. It is the only creature that smelts metal in its inventory without fuel.

4. Artifact Locations and The Manticore

To "beat" the map ARK Scorched Earth, you must face the final boss: The Manticore (a lion/scorpion/dragon hybrid). To summon it, you need four specific artifacts found in dangerous caves.

Tribute Requirements: Besides artifacts, you need the trophies of Wyverns, Deathworms, and Tyrannosaurs.
