Report: MikroTik Router Quick Setup Access

Objective: To identify and document the default method for accessing the Quick Setup interface on a MikroTik router.

Step 5: Configure Wireless (if applicable)

• If your router has wireless capabilities and you wish to set up a wireless network:
  • Navigate to Wireless.
  • Configure the wireless settings such as SSID, wireless protocol, channel, and security settings.

Step 2: Configure your PC’s IP Address

Your PC must be on the same subnet as the router. MikroTik’s default IP is 192.168.88.1 with a netmask of 255.255.255.0.

• Windows: Go to Network Settings > IPv4 > Set static IP: 192.168.88.50, Subnet: 255.255.255.0, Gateway: 192.168.88.1.
• Mac/Linux: System Preferences > Network > Manual IP.

6. Reset Router to Factory Defaults (if link fails)

1. Power off the router.
2. Press and hold the Reset button.
3. Power on while holding button.
4. Release after 10-15 seconds (when LED starts flashing).
5. Router reboots with default IP 192.168.88.1 and blank password.

The "Apply Configuration" Button

After filling everything out, click "Apply Configuration" or "OK" .

• Warning: The router will reboot. Your computer will lose connection momentarily.
• What happens next: The DHCP server restarts. Your PC will grab a new IP in the new range.
