Parasited - Little Puck Work: //top\\
Short Story: "The Parasited Mind"
In a world not so distant, in a small, quaint village nestled between two great mountains, there lived a young boy named Puck. Puck was known throughout the village for his curious nature and his extraordinary ability to find friendship in the most unlikely of places. However, Puck's life took a dramatic turn the day he stumbled upon a mysterious, ancient tome hidden deep within the forest.
The book, bound in a strange, pulsating material that seemed to shift and writhe like a living thing, was titled "Parasited." As soon as Puck opened the cover, a dark, swirling mist escaped, enveloping him in its embrace.
At first, Puck felt an exhilarating rush of power and knowledge flood through him. He could see the intricate web of connections between all living things, and understand the hidden languages of the earth and its creatures. But with this power came a presence, a shadowy entity that attached itself to Puck's mind.
The entity, known only as "The Parasite," fed on Puck's experiences, his emotions, and his connections with others. It grew strong on his innocence and his wonder. As time passed, Puck began to feel like a puppet on strings, with The Parasite pulling him from behind the scenes.
Despite his efforts to resist, Puck found himself becoming increasingly isolated. The connections he once cherished now felt like burdens, as if The Parasite was feeding on his very relationships. His work, once filled with passion and creativity, now felt hollow and forced. Parasited - Little Puck WORK
One day, a wise old woman from the village approached Puck. She had been watching him from afar, sensing the turmoil within him. She shared with him an ancient wisdom: "The greatest strength lies not in power, but in the ability to let go."
Puck realized that to free himself, he had to release the very thing that had promised him power. With a newfound determination, he sought out the tome, now understanding that his true strength lay in severing his connection with The Parasite.
The task was not easy. The Parasite fought fiercely to maintain its hold, promising Puck unimaginable power and knowledge if he would only yield. But Puck stood firm, understanding that true power comes from within, and that his connections with others were what truly made him strong.
With a final act of will, Puck closed the book, trapping The Parasite within. The dark mist dissipated, and a warm, golden light filled him, symbolizing his liberation. Short Story: "The Parasited Mind" In a world
From that day on, Puck's work took on a new meaning. He used his experiences to help others, and his connections with the people and the world around him were genuine and heartfelt. The village prospered, and Puck found his true purpose in life.
The story of Puck and The Parasite became a legend, a cautionary tale about the dangers of seeking power at any cost, and the true strength found in letting go and embracing one's authentic self.
7. Production checklist (short film / animation)
Preproduction:
- Final script and storyboard (beat-by-beat).
- Character designs and style frames.
- Soundtrack mockups and temp SFX.
- Casting for voices.
Production:
- Animation pipeline (keyframes, in-betweens) or live-action puppet / practical effects.
- Record voiceovers and scratch tracks early.
- Create parasite effects (CG, practical tendrils, compositing plans).
Postproduction:
- Edit for pacing; tighten to target runtime.
- Sound mix: ensure parasite audio sits under dialogue then swells when dominating.
- Color grade to emphasize palette shift.
- Add final VFX and polish.
1. Core concept
- Logline: Little Puck, a small mischievous creature, struggles as an invasive parasite alters its behavior and environment; the story explores identity, control, and rescue or transformation.
- Tone: Creepy-cute — mix of whimsical and unsettling.
- Themes: autonomy vs control, transmutation, empathy, isolation, resilience.
- Target formats: short film (5–12 min), interactive vignette, single-track song with visuals, or illustrated short.
2. Physical Description (The “Puck”)
The adult parasite is not the worm-like vector but a dense, disc-shaped reproductive node (2.3 cm diameter, 1.1 cm height). Its surface is smooth, hyper-reflective, and resembles polished hematite. When inactive, it is indistinguishable from a small, flat river stone.
- Active State: Upon sensing a host’s thermal signature (37°C ± 2°), the Puck extrudes microscopic mycelial hooks (0.03 mm) from its underside.
- Locomotion: It does not walk; it rolls via peristaltic wave compression, achieving 0.5 m/s on flat surfaces. This rolling motion gives it its colloquial name.
Act 3 — Resolution (8–12 min)
Two possible endings (choose one based on theme):
- Redemptive: Little Puck resists, removes parasite (help from friends, self-sacrifice), returns altered but wiser.
- Transformative: Parasite integrates, Little Puck becomes a new hybrid with ambiguous moral stance — leaves audience unsettled.
- Final image: a quiet lingering cue (a remnant parasite, ambiguous seed) for aftertaste.
6. Writing & dialogue tips
- Keep Little Puck’s language simple; use mispronunciations and broken phrases as parasite grows stronger.
- Show, don’t tell: reveal infection through actions and sensory detail rather than exposition.
- Use recurring imagery (seed, mark, shadow) to signal parasite progress.
- Keep scenes tight; aim for emotional beats over heavy explanation.
